High Definition television, or HDTV, is the hottest technology on the market today. At first look, it appears that a super expensive Full HD LCD TV and special satellite or cable connections are required for HDTV, however, that isn’t necessarily the case. Many TV shows are streamed online over the internet and are HD quality. A computer with a HD quality monitor is required to watch the HD TV online, otherwise the shows will still run on the computer, but the benefits of full HD TV will not be apparent because of the hardware limitations.
There are various ways to access HD TV online, or on a computer. The first way is to have an HD enabled laptop. The laptop setup should include a HD quality monitor and the laptop should have high definition capabilities. The easiest way to determine if the laptop has high definition capabilities is to look for technology called Blu-Ray. The laptop specifications would say it is Blu-Ray capable or has Blu-Ray enabled features.
A HD TV online experience isn’t limited to having a special connection with satellite or cable. A HD enabled antenna receives HD TV signals over the air to play these shows on your computer. Adding a HD tuner to the setup will turn the computer into a receiver and recorder, receiving HD TV from the airwaves and saving the HD TV shows to the computer’s hardware for current or later use.
Constructing a HD TV online experience is not a complicated endeavour. Start with a computer having sufficient qualifications and a suitably large hard drive, add in a HD tuner and a HD TV enabled antenna. With this setup, the HD TV online shows received by the antenna and converted by the tuner can be saved on the computer’s hard drive. This will build a library of HD TV for future HD TV watching.
